| JUNE SPECIALS |
We are pleased to announce that the June monthly specials will be for the entire range of Frsin kits (yes that’s how you spell it!).
Frsin produce some very fine airliners in 1/144 scale, with a massive range of aircraft and markings for prop to jet airliners.
Fancy a Comet in 1/144? How bout a Shorts Sandringham? A Carvair in Ansett/ANA markings? Or does the likes of the Dewoitine, DH91 Albatros, and the C160 Transall tickle your fancy? |

| EXPO |
The June long weekend saw us travel down to beautiful swine flu infected Melbourne, for Expo 2009. This was very much a last minute decision for us to attend, due to the costs involved, and on the Monday prior to the show, we confirmed our presence with Rene, the event director.
Early Friday morning saw us head for Mexico, hitting the Melb city by 3.30pm that afternoon, it took us another 3 hours to get to Sandown, due to taking a few wrong turns, missing a few turns, and peak hour traffic. This has now convinced me to fit the truck out with Sat Nav!
Walking into the venue on the Friday evening blew my mind. Never before have I seen a plastic model show this big, nor would have thought we would have a show that big here.
We had our stand set up entirely by the Friday night, next to our old friend South East Hobbies, and also next to the demo area, toilets, and café. Originally I wasn’t too impressed with where we were, but I think it actually worked a lot in our favour.
So over the 3 days, we meet up with a lot of customers, and also made and meet new ones. For us, meeting the people behind the keyboards, and phones is always great. Always nice to meet the people you are working with.
Saturday night saw us attend the AMI dinner, held only a few minutes walk from the hotel, which is always good. Was great to meet the many names from the AMI forum during the dinner and over the weekend.
So after 3 days of trading, standing up all day on our feet, and retiring to the hotel for a few quite bevies, it was time to pack up, and hit the road again.
Unfortunately, the trip home wasn’t as pleasant as I was hoping. 2 hours into the trip home, the sneezing starting, and so too did all of the flu symptoms. Getting back home, and getting checked out, it was just the flu, not that swine one that seems to be everywhere in Melbourne.
The weekend was also made easier for me, with thanks going to Ian and Kim at Empire Hobbies, who came and rescued me when they could, so I could for a few breaks. Being at a show on your own isn’t recommended. Also thanks to Rene and his wife for doing the same. |

| BMK BARRELS |
We now have the full range of BMK barrels and masts in stock. BMK produce some of the tiniest, and heist detailed brass turned barrels for the ship modeller in 1/350 scale. The range caters for US, RN, Kreigsmarine, Russian, Japanese and French navies, with nearly all barrels available for all ships.
There are also a few barrels and masts for the 1/72 and 1/144 Flower and Fletcher Class kits, as well as brass turned deck bells in 1/350 scale. These have to be seen to be believed.
There’s plenty more then what is mentioned above. |

| SCALE ACT |
The 23rd and 24th of May saw us venture down to Canberra. Expecting sub zero temperatures, we were gladly greeted by no winds, and lots of warm sun. The Friday night saw us setting up our stand, again next to our good friends The Modellers Choice.
Saturday saw a very busy day, with some great models on display, and some 1/16th R/C tanks battling it out. The Saturday night dinner was great fun. Good German food, German beer, and of course, German Schnapps. All of which I bought plenty of.
Sunday was a much quieter day, which at times isn’t too bad, as it gives you chance to recover from the day and night preceding, and also lets you slowly get into the packing up stage.
Thanks go to Mike Greive and crew for putting on the show, Adrian for coming down and helping, as well as TMC for helping when Adrian was MIA.
A great show, and looking forward to returning again next year. |

| AVIATION WRAP UP |
This was a relatively small 2 day show, compared to the likes of Illawarra and ACT etc, and although was promoted as the Sydney Model Aviation Show, it was primarily for diecasts, and assorted bits and pieces. Although this really wasn’t a show for us, we still made some good new customers, which is always great, and bumped into a few of our long term customers too.
The high light of the weekend for me though, was being able to crawl through a PBY Catalina. |
| |
| EUREKA XXL |
We now have the full range of Eureka XXL tow cables and diorama accessories in stock. The tow cables come in 1/35, 1/48 and 1/72 scales, and range most vehicle types, both allied and axis.
The diorama accessories include an outhouse, guards checkpoint, dog kennel, and a manual water pump. |
| |
| ILLAWARRA WRAP UP |
The Illawarra show was hosted by the IPMA on the first weekend of May. This was also the first show for the year, and we had a great time.
The show saw 298 models entered, in both competition and display, and a lot of modellers and general public coming through the door.
We were located in between our good friend The Modellers Choice and Mouse House, which made for a very enjoyable weekend.
Thanks go to the IPMA for hosting the show, and assisting with traders and their needs, as well as to Adrian, for helping us out on the weekend. |

Over the past 12 months,
you have seen our website go through a few changes that
has improved the website by look, information, and easy
use. And we now have another major change. With
this change we are very proud to announce that today
our site has now gone to full eCommerce. This means
that for those wishing to pay by credit card, can now
do so at the time of ordering, as opposed to our initial
method of invoicing you with Pay Pal. For those that
still wish to pay by cheque and direct transfers, this
is still available and you just tick your payment method
at the checkout.
There will of course be future updates to the eCommerce
and website.
We also need to thank Net Mastery at the same time,
for their tireless work, commitment, all night working
sessions, and quality of work. For those that want a
website, we can not recommend them enough. |

| CMA
stock indicator |
| A new update has been
implemented on the site. You can now see what products
are out of stock, low stock, in stock, and on order. Still
having a few little teething problems with this, but at
the moment it is pretty accurate.
For those wanting a product that is out of stock, please
still go ahead and order, as this will ensure that your
product is included in our next order.
Until we move in to our new warehouse, keeping everything
in stock is logistically impossible and are currently
doing our best to stock as much as we can at the moment.
For customers wanting to purchase a product that shows
out of stock, please still order, as this lets us know
what we need to order, what we need to stock, and we
will order these in ASAP.

| COBRA
COMPANY |
| Unfortunately it our regret to say that
we will no longer be dealing with Cobra Company. Cobra
Company product listings have been removed from our site,
and all orders have been cancelled.
This is due to Cobra Company, no longer wishing to
deal with anyone in Australia or New Zealand, which
they have been known to do before. This being distributors,
dealers, and personal retail customers.
At the time of Cobra Company making this decision,
we had an order in place with them, which they lost,
and have declined to honour.
For those of you that have ordered and payed for Cobra
Company products, you have received a more detailed
email explaining this, and also offering full refunds,
credits or change of orders.
We do apologise for this, but it was totally out of
our control.
